Terms of Use

1. Agreement to these terms

By using PetCalc.uk you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

2. Educational information only

PetCalc provides general educational content and calculator estimates. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment, emergency triage, breeding guarantees or personalised nutrition advice. You remain responsible for decisions about your animal’s health, welfare, breeding and feeding.

3. No professional relationship created

Using the site does not create a vet-client, breeder-client, nutritionist-client or other professional relationship between you and PetCalc.

4. Accuracy and availability

PetCalc aims to keep the site accurate and available, but does not guarantee that every page will always be free from error, interruption or omission. Calculator outputs are estimates based on the inputs you provide and generalised assumptions. Real animals do not always follow average models.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the site in a way that is unlawful, abusive or harmful;
  • attempt to interfere with the site’s operation, security or availability;
  • copy, scrape or republish substantial parts of the site in a misleading way;
  • use the site to market unsafe, illegal or unethical pet-related products or services.

6. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, PetCalc owns or controls the content, design, copy and code published on the site. You may link to pages, quote short excerpts with attribution and use results for personal decision-making, but you may not republish the site as your own work.

7. Third-party links

PetCalc may link to veterinary, welfare, research or government websites for reference. Those sites are outside PetCalc’s control and are governed by their own terms and policies.

8. Liability limits

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetCalc is not liable for loss, damage, cost or claim arising from reliance on the site, use of the calculators, interruption of service, or third-party content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. User responsibility

You must use common sense and, where appropriate, qualified professional advice. If your pet is unwell, pregnant and struggling, losing weight, failing to grow properly or showing a sudden change in condition, contact your vet promptly.

10. Privacy and cookies

Your use of the site is also governed by the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

11. Changes to these terms

PetCalc may update these terms from time to time. The current version is the one published on this page.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction unless a different mandatory legal rule applies.
