Cookie Policy

1. What this policy covers

PetCalc uses a mixture of browser storage and, if optional tools are enabled in future, may use third-party cookies or similar technologies. This policy explains what is essential, what is optional and how you can control it.

2. Essential storage currently used

PetCalc currently stores one essential preference item in your browser:

  • petcalc_cookie_preferences_v1 — records whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies so the site can respect that choice.

This preference storage is used to operate the consent choice itself and does not track your behaviour across other websites.

3. Optional analytics or advertising tools

PetCalc’s codebase supports optional analytics or advertising integrations, but those tools only load if both of the following are true:

  • you actively accept optional cookies; and
  • those integrations are actually configured on the site at that time.

If optional tools are not configured, accepting optional cookies does not by itself load any third-party tracking scripts.

4. Newsletter requests

Submitting your email address for updates sends the information directly to PetCalc’s newsletter endpoint. That process is described in the Privacy Policy. It is not controlled by the cookie banner because it only happens when you actively submit the form.

5. How to change your choice

You can clear your browser storage manually or trigger the banner again by using the site’s cookie settings function if exposed from a help link. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though that may remove your saved preference and cause the banner to appear again.

6. Browser-level controls

Most browsers let you:

  • see what cookies or storage entries are saved;
  • delete them individually or all at once;
  • block third-party cookies;
  • block all cookies entirely.
